Descrizione

The AK100 II is the second generation of the AK100 portable player. It is built around one CS4398 DAC with a re-tuned amplifier stage and offers a 2.5mm balanced output alongside the standard 3.5mm headphone output. It decodes up to 24-bit/192kHz files and plays DSD64 and DSD128 stereo files, the latter by conversion to 176kHz PCM on its dual-core processor.

The player has a 3.31-inch AMOLED touchscreen with a redesigned album view that shows six albums at once. The EQ has 10 bands in 0.5dB steps, and over-the-air firmware updates are delivered over Wi-Fi. The aluminium body has a top-mounted volume wheel with a guard, and a hairline and diamond-cut finish. Storage is 64GB onboard with a microSD slot for more.

For connections, it has a Micro-B USB port for charging and data transfer, and the unit also works as a USB DAC with a PC or Mac at up to 24-bit/96kHz, with the EQ not applied in that mode. An optical output shares the 3.5mm format, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n supports updates and streaming from an MQS server.
