PROTON is an analog semi-modular synthesizer with a normalled signal path, so it makes sound without patch cables. It has two VCOs, two self-oscillating multi-mode VCFs, two VCAs, a noise generator and a multi-mode wave folder. A large bay of patch points allows the normalled routing to be changed.
The two filters can be set up in parallel or in series, and their CVs can be linked. Two ASR envelopes, each with reverse, inverse, loop and bounce options, control the VCAs and wave folders. Two analog ADSR generators modulate the filters. There are two LFOs with five waveforms, MIDI clock sync, and key, sync, phase and depth controls. External audio can be summed into one or both filters.
The module can be played from a keyboard or computer over MIDI via DIN or USB. It is made to fit a standard Eurorack case, powered through the supplied power cables and fixed with the included screws, so it can be combined with other modules.
