Compact 16-in, 8-out digital stage box with remote-controllable Midas-designed mic preamps, connecting to a console over one Cat 5e cable via AES50. It also works as a 4-port ULTRANET hub for P16-M personal monitor mixers, aimed at live and studio sound engineers.

The SD16 puts 16 remote-controllable Midas-designed mic preamps and 8 balanced XLR outputs on stage in a compact, bumper-protected case. Preamp gain, +48 V phantom power and routing are all set from the console, so setup on stage amounts to placing the box and plugging in mic and instrument cables.
It links to the front-of-house console with a single shielded Cat 5e cable over AES50. In an X32 system, up to three SD16 units can be cascaded through the built-in AES50 ports, giving up to 48 bidirectional inputs and 24 balanced XLR outputs. Two of the programmable inputs accept Hi-Z sources such as keyboards and acoustic or bass guitars without a DI box. Conversion uses 24-bit Cirrus Logic converters.
An onboard 4-port ULTRANET hub carries 16 channels of audio and power to as many as four Behringer POWERPLAY P16-M personal monitor mixers per SD16 over Cat 5e, with no external power adapters. A USB port is provided for system updates from a computer.
