The DP-500BT is a belt-drive turntable with a DC motor, a die-cast aluminum platter and a vibration-resistant chassis. It has an S-shaped tonearm with a universal headshell and a DSN-85 moving-magnet stylus. Semi-automatic operation lifts the tonearm and stops the platter at the end of a record. It plays at 33 1/3, 45 and 78 RPM.
A built-in phono equalizer can be switched on or off. With it on, the turntable can be connected directly to powered speakers or an amplifier that has no phono input. With it off, it can feed an external phono stage. Output goes over RCA cables, which are not captive.
Bluetooth transmission sends the signal to speakers, headphones or receivers with a Bluetooth input. Supported codecs are SBC, aptX, aptX HD and aptX Adaptive. The unit has a removable dust cover and a ground wire terminal. It runs from an external power supply rated for 100-240 V AC.
