Darkness is a digital reverb effects pedal built around a 32-bit, 48 kHz processor. It works in true stereo, with stereo input and stereo output, and the tails can be set to continue or cut off when the effect is bypassed.
The reverb offers decay times of up to 30 seconds and a variable time scale that can be modulated with a triangle wave or sample & hold. A selectable pitch shifter of plus or minus 12 semitones has an adjustable mix amount, which produces shimmering textures. A two-pole damping filter can be set as a high-pass or low-pass filter to shape the tone of the tail.
Two further functions extend the pedal beyond a standard reverb. Freeze loops 150 ms of the incoming signal, and the gate effect has adjustable attack and release times.
