Clockworks is a reissue of a 1970s Electro-Harmonix pedal. It makes no sound of its own. Instead it produces pulses that trigger other gear, such as electronic percussion units, or set the tempo of a drum machine or sequencer. The circuit is fully analog and the output is mono.
The unit has four clock channels fed from one master clock, so four separate devices can be driven at once, which makes polyrhythms straightforward. Each channel has its own divisor slider with an LED to set the clock division, and its own level slider for the output pulse amplitude. A separate clock section has a tempo slider for the internal generator and a level slider for the clock signal sent out.
The master clock can run from the internal generator or come from an external source. The CLOCK IN/OUT jack works as an output in INT mode and as an input in EXT mode. Channels 1 to 4 are sent out through output jacks that take standard patch or instrument cables. A power adapter is supplied. The model was discontinued in 2024.
