The E 115 Sub D is an active subwoofer built around a 15" cone driver in a bass-reflex MDF cabinet. A bi-amped Class D power stage delivers 1500 W peak to the woofer, and the unit reaches 128 dB peak SPL with a -6 dB range from 48 Hz up to the crossover. A second 900 W amplifier channel powers up to three E 835 mid/high units, giving a total of 2400 W.
A DSP preamplifier handles a 10-band parametric EQ with variable filter characteristics, high-pass and low-pass filters, polarity, level, delay, limiter and mute. Four filter presets are stored on the unit, and a cardioid output is provided for setting up directional subwoofer arrays. The DSP can be controlled from Windows or Mac through the HK Audio DSP CONTROL software, and the unit can share a network with LINEAR 7 speakers.
Connections include a combo XLR/jack input, an XLR through output, a cardioid XLR output, E-Connect and SpeakOn satellite outputs, two Ethercon ports for the network and Milan digital audio transmission. Power comes in through a Powercon NAC3 inlet. The cabinet has two MultiGrip handles and a steel front grille, and it is compatible with E 835/435 units and the EP 1/2 and EF 45 accessories.
