The Heston Sub 200 is a ported-cabinet subwoofer that extends the low end of a TV soundbar system. Two 5.25-inch woofers sit on opposite sides of the compact cabinet and are driven by two 120 W class-D amplifiers, covering 30 - 150 Hz with a maximum sound pressure level of 99 dB.
It connects wirelessly to Marshall soundbars such as the Heston 120 and Heston 60 using Bluetooth 5.3 LE Audio with the LC3 codec. A wired SUB IN (RCA mono) input is also available. Setup and volume are handled by a setup button and a volume knob on the unit, and the Marshall app is used for pairing and tuning, including crossover frequency and phase inversion, over either wireless or cable connection.
The subwoofer should be in the same room as the soundbar and needs a mains outlet nearby, but because low frequencies are less sensitive to position it can be placed fairly freely. The design uses user-replaceable spare parts, and software and firmware updates are supported for a minimum of two years. It is offered in black and cream.
