The twotwo.5 is the smallest model in the twotwo series of active reference monitors. It pairs a 140mm (5.5 inch) bass driver and a 27mm soft-dome tweeter with an Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) labyrinth cabinet, giving an effective ATL length of 1.5m. A DSP engine controls driver response, crossover and EQ, and two Class-D power amplifiers drive the two units.
The cabinet can be used standing upright or on its side without affecting stereo imaging or tonal accuracy. This makes it practical where space is limited, such as outside broadcast vehicles, small radio studios, TV sound galleries, project studios, video editing and post-production rooms, and A&R listening.
Inputs are balanced analogue on XLR, unbalanced analogue on RCA/phono, and AES3 digital on XLR with selectable left or right channel. Digital resolution goes up to 192kHz. Each input has its own trim range of ±8dB, and analogue sensitivity is adjustable from +4 to +15dBu. Registering the speakers within 10 days of purchase extends the warranty to 20 years, subject to terms.
