The Artera Stereo is a two-channel power amplifier built around the latest version of Current Dumping, the circuit first used in the QUAD 405. A low-power, high-quality Class A stage carries the signal, while a high-power section supplies the current to control the speakers. A precision network combines the two, aiming to pair Class A signal quality with Class AB efficiency in a relatively compact, cool-running design.
Output is rated at 140 W per channel into 8 ohms and 250 W into 4 ohms, so it is suited to demanding speakers, including QUAD's ESL electrostatic models. The input stage includes newly developed balanced XLR inputs, with a stated signal-to-noise ratio of 115 dB (A-weighted, referenced to 140 W).
Connections consist of two XLR inputs, single-ended RCA inputs, a 12 V trigger input and speaker binding posts with A+B speaker outputs. The amplifier measures 320 x 158 x 338 mm and weighs 15 kg. It is offered in Aluminium Black, Aluminium Silver and Classique Gold finishes.
