Pro-Iso
A passive stereo converter that reduces balanced +4dB line-level signals to unbalanced -10dB consumer level, with transformer isolation to remove ground-loop hum. Aimed at feeding portable recorders, laptops and consumer gear from a console or preamp, particularly for spoken-voice work.

The Pro-Iso takes a balanced professional line-level signal and converts it to an unbalanced -10dB level suited to consumer devices. It has a stereo signal path and a passive design built from discrete components. Its transformers are chosen to concentrate on the voice range, which suits sermons, news gathering and speech recording.
A set-and-forget level control attenuates the incoming signal so it does not overload the destination device. Transformer isolation reduces hum and buzz caused by ground loops and stops stray DC from flowing between the devices.
Outputs come as a stereo pair of 1/4-inch connectors, a set of RCA connectors and a 3.5mm (1/8-inch) mini jack. This lets one unit feed a portable recorder, a laptop or other consumer audio gear from a console or preamp output.
