The UwMic9 is a UHF wireless system built around a portable two-channel receiver that mounts on a camera. It ships ready to use, and a second transmitter can be added to the receiver for two-person setups. The included handheld microphone has a cardioid pattern, so it picks up less sound from the sides and rear.
The receiver, transmitter and microphone have metal housings and each has a backlit LCD. An auto-scan function looks for suitable channels, and an infrared function syncs the transmitter to the receiver. Stated operating range is up to 100 m (330 ft), and the system works in the 514–596 MHz UHF band. The receiver has a headphone monitoring jack with volume control.
The system is sold as individual parts (UwMic9 TX9, UwMic9S TX9S, UMic-M2, UwMic9 HU9, UwMic9 TX-XLR9, UwMic9 RX-XLR9 and the SR-UMBC1 battery compartment) and as Kit1, Kit2 and Kit4 bundles. A 2-year warranty is listed.
