The RS 195-U is a closed-back, circumaural headphone system that receives digital wireless audio from a transmitter, with a line-of-sight range of up to 328 ft (100 m). It is aimed at TV and entertainment listening rather than Bluetooth use.
For speech clarity, it offers selectable hearing boost presets plus an additional noise suppression mode intended to make dialogue easier to follow. A separate music listening mode provides a wider dynamic range for non-speech content.
The multi-purpose transmitter accepts both digital and analog inputs, lets the user switch between them, and offers automatic and manual level control. It also serves as an easy-charge cradle and docking station for the headphones. The system does not support Bluetooth. Total harmonic distortion is below 0.5 % at 1 kHz and 100 dB SPL. Country adapters, a power supply and a replacement TR 195 transmitter are listed as compatible spare parts.
