Sequential Prophet-10

Sequential Prophet-10 – 10-Voice Polyphonic Analog Force

The Prophet-10 brings legendary analog depth and power to modern synthesists who demand expressive polyphony, vintage tone, and rich modulation. With 10 voices, dual analog VCOs, selectable filters, and velocity plus aftertouch, it delivers commanding pads, lush leads, and thick textures.

Key Features

• Two analog VCOs per voice: Oscillator A supports sawtooth and pulse; Oscillator B adds triangle, pulse, with PWM and hard sync for harmonically rich tones.
• Selectable filters (Rossum 2140 & Curtis CEM 3320): Choose between distinct classic filter characters, drive them into self-oscillation for intense filtering effects.
• Rich modulation architecture: Poly-Mod section lets envelope and Oscillator B modulate cutoff, oscillator pitch/pulse width, LFO shapes include saw, triangle, square. Includes velocity and aftertouch for performance dynamics.
• 200 user + 200 factory presets: Ample sound slots, banks, and direct access to programs make sound-design and live performance more fluid.
• Premium keybed & control layout: 61-key semi-weighted Fatar keyboard with aftertouch, mod & pitch wheels; knob-per-parameter design for hands-on control.
• Solid steel chassis with wood trim: Durable build with black walnut heartwood panels, roadworthy design and expressive aesthetic.

Use Cases / Ideal For

Perfect for synth-based production, ambient textures, film scoring, live performance with lush pads, polyphonic leads, or fat analog bass. Also excellent when needing expressive modulation, vintage tone, or layering capabilities in a live rig or studio setup. If you search for a high-end analog poly synth with character and depth, Prophet-10 is a crown jewel.

Compatibility

Plugs into standard AC power (IEC), sends audio via mono audio out, and includes headphone output for monitoring. Compatible with MIDI controllers, CV/gate for modular integration. Use with ample amplifier or DI interface for best sound; ensure stable mains voltage. Works with modern DAWs via USB MIDI.

Pros & Cons

✅ Pros:

• Massive analog sound with full control over tone, modulation, and dynamics.
• Selectable filters and Vintage knob allow you to dial in either pristine or characterful classic sounds.
• Strong build quality and stage-ready. The keybed and controls offer a tactile, engaging experience.
• Large preset capacity and hands-on interface—minimal menu diving.

⚠️ Cons:

• Large size and weight demand space and a strong stand; not ideal for extremely tight setups.
• Analog nature means slight drift and warm instability (part of charm, but needs tuning patience).
• High cost compared to simpler polysynths or digital emulations—but the character and features justify the expense for many.

The Sequential Prophet-10 stands as a benchmark in analog polyphony, offering tonal depth, hands-on control, and expressive performance in a timeless package. For musicians who want to craft sound with soul and precision, this synth delivers.
