The PGA81 is a cardioid condenser microphone designed for picking up acoustic instruments in recording and live settings where sensitivity matters. Its flat-response cartridge is intended to reproduce the instrument's natural sound clearly, while the cardioid pickup pattern favours the source and rejects unwanted noise from other directions.
The body has a black metallic finish with a matching grille, giving the microphone a low-key look on stage or in the studio. A stand adapter is included for mounting on a microphone stand, and a zipper pouch protects it during storage or transport.
The PGA81 connects by XLR. The PGA81-XLR version comes with an XLR-XLR cable of 4.57 m, and a version without a cable is also offered. Optional accessories listed for it include the A3WS windscreen, A27M stereo microphone adapter, A55M shock mount clip and A25D microphone clip.
