The Launcher

The Launcher is a compact box designed to be placed between a dynamic or ribbon microphone and the mic input of an audio interface, preamp or PA system. Rather than aiming for a transparent, clean boost, it is built to add the tonal character associated with a vintage analog console. It also lowers the audible noise in the signal chain.

At its core are a custom hand-wound transformer and a proprietary analog circuit, which together provide 26 dB of additional gain. This makes it useful for getting more level and a fuller tone from a basic interface or a modest preamp, whether on stage, in a booth or at home.

The maker positions it for home and professional engineers, musicians, podcasters, voiceover artists and video creators. Every unit is hand-built in the maker's own facility, and a specifications download is offered on the product page.
