The CD-500 is a one-rack-unit CD player for professional playback. It reads audio CDs, CD-R and CD-RW discs (12 cm only) through a slot-loading mechanism, and also plays MP3 and WAV files from data discs. The drive uses brushless motors, intended to give long service life under heavy use.
Playback functions include all-track, single, random, A/B and 99-track program play, incremental play, intro check, frame-accurate search, skip back play, resume and a call function that returns to the last play start point. Fade in/out can be set from 0 to 10 seconds in 0.5-second steps. Index search works on CD-DA discs and directory search on MP3 discs. Fader start, event start, EOM (end of message), power on play and mono output are also available.
Analog output is on an unbalanced RCA pair, with coaxial and optical S/PDIF digital outputs and a 1/4" headphone jack. Several units can be chained for relay play through 1/8" relay in/out jacks. The player can be controlled over RS-232C, from a wireless remote, or with an optional RC-3F foot switch. The unit is listed as discontinued.
