The SA45 combines a Class G power amplifier, a balanced digital and analogue signal path and a network streaming platform in one chassis. The streaming board is a six-layer design with a full ground plane and uses an ESS Hyperstream iV DAC in a balanced configuration with jitter elimination. A linear toroidal transformer supplies the unit in operation, while a switching supply takes over only in standby. An 8.8-inch bonded display shows album artwork and track metadata.
Playback options include Apple AirPlay, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect and Qobuz Connect, with Roon Ready status listed (Roon support is marked as coming soon). Bluetooth 5.4 supports Snapdragon Sound, LE Audio and Auracast. Setup, presets, internet radio and podcasts are handled in the Arcam Radia app. Streaming supports up to 32-bit / 384 kHz files and DSD up to 256.
For connections there are three RCA line inputs, one balanced XLR input, MM and MC phono inputs, HDMI eARC, two coaxial and two optical digital inputs, and dual subwoofer outputs. Dirac Live room correction is supported, and a measurement microphone is supplied.
