The WASP DELUXE is a monophonic analog synth based on the late-1970s Wasp design. The signal path uses analog filter and amplifier circuits. Two oscillators each offer sawtooth, square and an enhanced waveform, with a five-step octave range from 32' to 2'. Oscillator 1 has a Width control for its wave shape, and oscillator 2 has its own pitch control for detuning against oscillator 1. An external audio signal can be mixed in alongside the oscillators, and a noise generator can be blended in as well.
The filter is switchable between low-pass, high-pass, band-pass and notch modes, with Freq and Q controls. A control oscillator provides an LFO with six shapes (sine, rising saw, falling saw, square, noise and random), adjustable by Frequency and Pitch knobs. Two analog envelope generators handle the VCA and the filter: the VCA envelope has Attack, Decay and Sustain Level/Repeat plus a hold switch, and the control envelope has Attack, Decay and Delay/Repeat. In total there are 29 controls.
The synth stays monophonic, but a Poly Chain function lets several units be combined for up to 16 voices. MIDI is available over USB and MIDI DIN (in, out and thru). Audio leaves through a 3.5 mm TRS main output and 1/4" TRS Low and High outputs. The module can be moved into a standard Eurorack case.
