Floorstanding three-and-a-half-way loudspeaker from DALI's discontinued EPICON series, with two 8-inch woofers, a 6½-inch mid driver and a hybrid soft-dome/planar tweeter. Aimed at hi-fi listeners with larger rooms and capable amplification.

The EPICON 8 is the top floorstander of DALI's EPICON line. It uses a 3 + ½-way design with two 8-inch low/mid drivers and a 6½-inch driver, covering 35 Hz to 30 kHz (±3 dB). Crossover points are set at 550 Hz, 3,100 Hz and 15,000 Hz, and nominal impedance is 5 ohms with a sensitivity of 89 dB.
The magnet systems use Soft Magnetic Composite (SMC), a material with high magnetic conductivity and low electrical conductivity, intended to reduce distortion from losses in the motor. The woofers have wood-fibre cones made at DALI's facility in Denmark. High frequencies come from a hybrid module that pairs a 29 mm soft dome with a 10 x 55 mm planar tweeter, which is meant to give wide, even dispersion.
The cabinet is a six-layer MDF laminate with rounded shapes and no parallel surfaces, with separate internal chambers for each woofer and bass ports behind the bass and midrange drivers. The finish is real-wood veneer with 10 layers of hand-polished lacquer; the listed finish is Satin Black. Connection is through standard loudspeaker terminals from a separate amplifier recommended at 50 to 500 watts.
