The Vertex III SB-VJ41L is a passive soundbar with dedicated left, center and right channels. The center channel is intended to keep dialogue clear, while the left and right channels handle the wider soundstage for films and music. It uses three JET tweeters, based on the air motion transformer principle, and four woofers with Crystal Cone aluminum diaphragms. These drivers come from the maker's Vela loudspeaker series.
The cabinet is slim and finished in satin black, with a black magnetic grille. The soundbar has a nominal impedance of 6 ohms, a sensitivity of 86 dB at 2.83 V/1 m and a maximum power input of 100 watts. Frequency response is stated as 60 Hz to 35,000 Hz, with a crossover at 2,800 Hz.
Being passive, the soundbar needs an external amplifier or receiver and connects with metal push-type binding posts. A wall mount is included. After the bracket is fixed to the wall, it allows 2 inches of left and right adjustment so the soundbar can be centered on the television.
