C55
The C55 is a five-channel analog power amplifier from Hegel's C5 series, built for rack installation in home theater, multi-room, studio or restaurant systems. It delivers 150 W per channel into 8 ohms and suits installers and enthusiasts who need several channels in one chassis.

The C55 is the five-channel version of the C5 series, which is also offered with three or four channels. It is a class A/B power amplifier based on the SoundEngine2 error-cancelling design, run at low bias so it stays cooler and can be mounted in a 19-inch rack. Each of the five channels is rated at 150 W into 8 ohms, 300 W into 4 ohms and 600 W into 2 ohms, with a damping factor above 2000.
Integration features include individually switchable gain (23 dB or 29 dB) and individually switchable phase (0/180 degrees) for every channel. This makes it practical for 5.1 or Atmos theaters, bi-amping, active crossover setups or multi-speaker installations. Several units can be combined when more channels are required.
Each channel has both a balanced XLR and an unbalanced RCA input. A 3.5 mm trigger input and a trigger output allow daisy chaining and remote switching from another room. The chassis is 3U high with integrated front rack ears and adjustable, detachable rear mount ears; feet are supplied for free-standing use.
