The № 5802 combines a preamplifier, a DAC and a stereo power amplifier in one chassis. The DAC section is built around a 32-bit ESS Sabre converter with jitter elimination and a discrete, fully balanced current-to-voltage stage. It handles PCM up to 32 bit/384 kHz and DSD up to 11.2 MHz, and it decodes MQA on all digital inputs, including asynchronous USB.
The amplifier channels are fully discrete, direct-coupled class A/B designs, fed by an oversized toroidal transformer of more than 500 VA with separate secondary windings for each channel. Output is rated at 125 W per channel into 8 ohms and nearly 250 W into 4 ohms, with stable operation down to 2 ohms. A class-A analog stage drives the front-panel headphone jack, and variable RCA line outputs allow system expansion.
Digital inputs are AES, USB, two coaxial and two optical S/PDIF, plus a Bluetooth receiver with aptX HD. For control and integration it has Ethernet, RS-232, a 12 V trigger input and output, and an IR input. It can be set up through a built-in webpage and operated with the aluminum IR remote or the 5Kontrol app on iOS and Android.
