The DP-2000 is an 8-pad digital percussion instrument. Its built-in library carries acoustic drum samples taken from the maker's DM-8 kit, along with folk percussion and electronic sounds. Twenty presets cover a range of styles. A Layer function splits a pad into two zones so each can have its own sound. Six onboard effects can be assigned to individual pads or used as bus effects through the FX function.

The library can be extended with custom WAV samples through the Wavimport function, loaded from a USB drive. The same USB drive can be used for WAV music playback. The pads light up, and the LED brightness follows playing dynamics and sound length. A colour screen shows the interface.

Three 1/4" (6.35 mm) jacks accept a kick pedal, a hi-hat controller and an extra trigger, so the unit can grow into a small electronic kit. MIDI In and Out allow it to act as a secondary sound module alongside an existing e-drum kit. The USB-C port takes USB drives or the optional NBT-1 Bluetooth module, which adds Bluetooth audio and Bluetooth MIDI.
