QI65RP

The QI65RP is a round-grille, 6.5-inch full-range in-wall speaker from the Q Install series. Its low-frequency driver uses a mass-damped polypropylene cone with a high-powered coil and magnet assembly, aimed at low distortion and good transient handling. A 1-inch (25 mm) silk dome tweeter sits in a swivel mount, so the aim can be adjusted, and the speaker has a switchable high-frequency level.

A high-order crossover keeps the handover between drivers smooth. The tuning focuses on a clear midrange so speech stays intelligible and colouration is limited. The magnetic low-profile grille is intended to make fitting easier, and the cabinet needs only a shallow rear depth of 79 mm.

The speaker is rated at 8 ohms nominal and 15-75 W program power, with a low-frequency response of 65 Hz (-3 dB). It connects to an A/V receiver or power amplifier through standard speaker wiring. For extra bass, the range includes a passive 8-inch in-wall subwoofer, which needs a suitable receiver and amplifier. The same range also has an 8-inch two-way model and a D'Appolito LCR speaker that can serve as a centre channel.
