The HP504 is a cabinet-style digital piano built around a weighted 88-note hammer-action keyboard with escapement and ivory-feel white keys. Its sound engine reproduces grand and upright piano tones, with a Dynamic Harmonic setting for strong playing and Individual Note Voicing, which adjusts pitch, volume and character for each of the 88 notes. A Piano Designer section covers resonance and soundboard behaviour, and a Headphones 3D Ambience effect gives headphone playing a more open sound field.
Practice tools include a three-part MIDI recorder, audio recording to USB flash memory, a metronome, an internal song library with piano masterpieces, Hanon and Czerny exercises, and an adjustable music rest. A Volume Limit function and separate headphone volume help in family settings. The Progressive Damper Action pedal supports continuous detection for half-pedalling.
The piano has stereo 1/4-inch and 1/8-inch headphone jacks, line outputs, an audio input, a USB Computer port and a USB Memory port. Roland's Piano Partner and Air Performer iOS apps work with it, and wireless connection needs an optional USB adapter.
