Seaboard M is a compact MPE controller with 24 continuous Keywaves, each about 25% narrower than a standard piano key. It reads five touch dimensions (press, slide, glide, lift and strike), so each finger can shape vibrato, pitch slides, swells and similar articulations independently. Two octaves are shown at a time, and octave shift buttons extend the range to seven octaves.
ROLI Studio, a pair of plug-ins with more than 200 MPE presets, is included, along with ROLI Dashboard. The Studio Player offers an MPE arpeggiator with up to three layers and Smart Chords for playing full chords with one finger. It is the same instrument that was previously sold as Seaboard BLOCK M.
The unit connects to a computer through USB-C or Bluetooth 4.2 and to hardware synths through a 2.5mm TRS MIDI output. An internal rechargeable battery gives up to ten hours of use. Two magnetic DNA connectors let you join up to four Seaboard Ms, or pair it with Piano M or ROLI BLOCKS, and it can also be combined with Airwave for gesture tracking.
